The Falcons (5-7) were able to cook up another victory by defeating the Southwestern Illinois College Blue Storm 3-2 in overtime. Ross Watson was the regulation time hero of the match as he scored 2 goals, one in the 70th minute and the other in the 81st minute to assure overtime for the Falcons as they played a man down in the second half.
ECC found the back of the net for a golden goal winner in the 110th minute with a goal from Miguel Gonzalez. Gonzalez a second year COVID sophomore was able to use his extraordinary sense in front of the frame to contribute the game winner on the road in ECC’s third consecutive victory.
ECC will travel to State Fair for a region and conference game Saturday, October 8.
