The East Central College Falcons improved to 10-4 on the season with a 4-1 win over the Crowder College Roughriders. Stephen Akot was able to score three goals for the hat trick in the match with two coming from penalty kicks.

The match scheduled at ECC on Saturday, Oct. 16 was moved to Union Middle School due to field conditions on the home pitch with about three inches of rain coming in the past two days.

A big win from the Falcons came from a total team effort and the dynamic goal scoring tandem of Joe McInnes and Stephen Akot provided the scoring punch to knockout the Roughriders. McInnes was able to collect his 9th goal of the season as the Falcons were able to coast through the match with ease. Akot added to his scoring totals to give him numbers #13, #14 and #15 on the season which puts him in the top ten for all NJCAA DII men’s soccer this season.

The Falcons saw good play in the nets from Pierocarlo Previte in the win and the back line of Jacob Sauvage, Julio Gonzalez, James Baxter and Nelson Pena held Crowder to just one goal coming from a penalty kick in the first half.
