The Falcons (5-5-2) were able to add another “W” in the win column to climb back up to .500 mark on the season with a 4-1 win over the Rockhurst University JV team. A tightly contested first half had the Falcons up 1-0 after Leo Sowa was brought down in the penalty box. Arman Kovac converted the penalty kick to give the Falcons a 1-0 early lead three minutes into the game. The Falcons had their chances, but were not finding the back of the net.

In the second half, the Falcons answered quickly with a goal in the 54 minute as Guy Baskerville tucked in a pass from Blake Little who weaved through three defenders to lay the ball off to Baskerville for his first goal of the season. The Falcons were hungry for more and Leo Sowa intercepted a Rockhurst pass in the defensive third and took it to the house himself. Sowa beat one defender up the middle and buried a shot from 20 yards out past the Rockhurst goalkeeper. The game started to get chippy and the referee issued a few yellow cards and awarded Rockhurst a penalty kick. Flavio Santi came up big with an initial penalty kick save, but one of the Rockhurst players followed up with a rebound shot to make the game 3-1. The scoring ended with Dan Kouau DeBlaise knocking in his first goal of the season on assist from Dashaun Morris.

ECC ended up with the 4-1 victory over Rockhurst with a total team effort. The Falcons will face State Fair Community College in their next match and last NJCAA Region 16 regular season game.
