The ECC Falcons (3-1) won their opening tournament for the second year in a row with wins over Lindenwood-Belleville JV, John A. Logan and Southwestern Illinois. The Falcons only fell to Lewis & Clark over the weekend after making a comeback in the match down in sets 2-0, ECC fought back to take it to five sets. The Falcons had good ball control throughout the weekend and play from the team was consistently good offensively and defensively. Sophomores Mackenzie Struckhoff and Grace Goedde recording good stats leading the Falcons to the tournament championship and being named to the All-Tournament team.

The Falcons finished of the weekend with a 25-23, 26-24, 25-16 win over Southwestern Illinois. Despite the close score line, the Falcons were able to control the match to the end of each set and pull of the victory. A strange turn of events had the Falcons back in contention for the tournament victory as Southwestern Illinois had knocked off Lewis & Clark in the earlier match on Saturday.
