After a delayed start due to weather conditions, the Falcons (15-3) took to the field to face the St. Louis Community College Archers in their first MCCAC and NJCAA Region 16 matchup of the season. The teams split the double header with a 6-0 St. Louis win in the first game and a 14-11 win by East Central in the second game. The Falcons were off their game in the first contest swinging at a lot of pitches and missing. The St. Louis pitcher struck out 11 in the game.

The second game was more like the rest of the season as the ECC bats started to heat up. Megan Micke went 3 for 4 with 6 RBI including a second inning grand slam to put ECC up 6-1.  Eden Henry connected on with a solo home run right after Micke’s grand slam to make it 7-1.  St. Louis kept trying to mount a comeback, but the Falcons kept putting the bat on the ball. Alayna Abney went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI. Other runs scored came from pass balls as the Falcons kept up the pressure by getting runners in scoring position.  Ashley Miller started pitching for ECC and got the win while Abby Ray came in relief to get the save.
