The ECC Falcons (4-0) took two games against the Lewis & Clark Trailblazers by scores of 8-0 and 8-3 at home on Friday, March 2. The second game took a rally from a 3-0 deficit to finally have the Falcons prevail in the later innings. Down 3-0 in the bottom of the 3rd inning Meg Barger got the scoring started as she came home on a pass ball. Jensen Crenshaw scored on a fielder’s choice play at the plate cutting the score to 3-2. Seeley Friend then jumped on a pitch to level the score at 3-3 with an RBI single. Friend ended up leading the team with three RBI in the second game. Crenshaw added the eventual game winning RBI with a single in the bottom of the 4th inning. Friend along with Marissa Boyd and Megan Micke, tacked on insurance RBIs in the 6th inning to send the game out of reach with a 8-3 scoreline for the Trailblazers. Shelby Carr was able to go four innings to earn the victory pitching, while Abby Ray came in the game for three innings of scoreless relief to get the save.

The first game had ECC in command from start to finish. Ashley Miller collected her second shutout victory of the season in the 8-0 win.  The Falcons forced errors quickly from the opposing Trailblazers. ECC collected runs in every inning. A number of throwing errors to first and pass balls led the Falcons scoring many of their runs. Megan Micke came up to the plate in the bottom of the 6th inning with two runners in scoring position with the score 6-0. Micke sent a single into the gap scoring two to end the game at 8-0.
