The Falcons (2-0) flew into the season with some questions about who they were as a team trying to replace sophomore starters. The 2017 campaign kicked off with a home tournament and the team identity was quickly found. The Falcons used ball control to win their first two matches of the season over Lindenwood-Belleville JV and John Logan by scores of 25-18, 25-22, 25-13 and 25-16,25-13, 23-25, 25-20 respectively. Sophomores Grace Goedde, Mackenzie Struckhoff, Cameron Hackmann and Emma Borcherding welcomed the play of the freshman. Natalie Green started as the setter and Molly Kraus, Janice Staecy, Lydia Klenke and Jessica all contributed in their first intercollegiate matches to notch East Central College’s first two victories of the season.
