ECC Baseball (17-17) reached the .500 mark after two come from behind wins in a double header sweep of Region 16 rival North Central College by scores of 11-5 and 12-5.

The Falcons last games were played against North Central in Trenton, MO over the past weekend and now the birds of prey were home to roost and battle against the Pirates again. An early deficit of being down 3-0 in the first inning was erased with some timely hitting from Trey Orman. Orman smashed a three-run homer to bring ECC back into the game. In the fourth inning, ECC put the game out of reach when Mario Columbo singled with bases loaded to drive in two runs.

Justin Rogers and Luciano Terrilli both had two hits in the game. Logan Baker went three for four and had one of his best days of the season at the plate.

Hudson Stark started the game, but Levi Betts came in with a deficit and ended up getting the win for the Falcons on the bump. Betts had good command of his pitches and struck out four batters going three and two-thirds innings.

In the second game, the Falcons gave up their usual first inning runs finding themselves trailing 3-0 again. It didn’t take long, but as soon as the Falcons reached the plate in the bottom of the first, they rallied to tie the score at 3-3. Tyson Dent, Ethan Lindemann, Trevor Packan and Austin McKim all drove in two RBI each in the contest.

A combined effort pitching had Will Deshotels starting with Brayden Noland registering the win striking out two batters in the fifth inning. Alfred Ulloa came in relief out of the bullpen pitching two good innings.  A good combination of pitching was one of the primary keys to the victory over the Pirates.
