ECC Baseball (15-17) sunk the North Central College Pirates’ ship as they sailed to two victories in a double header sweep 14-1 and 11-1. Pitching proved to be key for the Falcons as Levi Betts led ECC to victory in the first game allowing only three hits over 4 and 1/3 innings, striking out six batters. The offensive output was led by an onslaught of hits. Tyson Dent and Logan Baker both drove in three runs each to send the game out of reach, sinking the Pirates’ ship. Baker’s shot in the 5th was a three- run homer. Grant Beck and Luciano Terilli both collected two hits each in the biggest victory for the Falcons on the season against their region rivals.

The payback for last night’s walk-off for North Central continued with angry bats as ECC kept hitting the ball hard in the second game 11-1 victory. Grant Beck and Luciano Terilli racked up two hits a piece. Tyson Dent went 4-5 at the plate and registered three RBI. Austin McKim followed up with two RBI of his own on one hit.

Terilli got the win from the mound starting for the Falcons, and Alfred Ulloa and Cristian Gonzalez came in to close out the second big win on the day for the Falcons.   Taking three out of four games on the weekend with North Central was a big lift for ECC. The three wins put the Falcons perched at the top of the post-season standings with a 6-2 record.
