East Central College Softball, now 12-7-1, was able to pick up a double header sweep over the Mineral Area College Cardinals, 14-10 and 7-3 with some offensive power in the first game and some good defense in the second game. A 14-10 win usually isn’t a very good way to win a game, but the bats were alive in the game as Kaili Edler led the way with a crushing grand slam in the bottom of the first inning to give ECC a 5-1 lead. Edler went 3 for 4 on the day and recorded her best performance at the plate as a Falcon.  Kristyn England was another bright spot at the plate as she went 2 for 3 with a solo home run.  The Falcons were paced with other RBI hits from Dani Kimminau, Maddie Greco, and Lily Prichard. Picking up the win for the Falcons was Hailey Schulte in her usual starting role pitching for the Falcons.

The second game was much more under control as the Falcons were winning the entire way into the 7th inning with a 7-1 lead. Addie Konkel had a great game pitching and the Falcon squad provided good defense throughout the game. There was a little scare in the top of the 7th inning as MAC added two runs to make the score 7-3 , but they stranded bases loaded to end the game.  Ashleigh Damazyn had a big two run  double to lift ECC to 2-0 lead. Then Kelly Ferguson did some damage of her own with a lead off double. She was driven home by Lily Prichard to make the score 3-1. Maddie Greco, who leads the nation in hit by pitches, decided to make the Cardinals pay for a first game bruise by tagging her 9th home run of the season and elevated ECC to a 4-1 lead.
