ECC Softball (17-14) split a double header with the Mineral Area Cardinals by scores losing 8-7 and winning 5-2.
Morgan Green had a monster day at the plate going 5 for 5 in the first game and 3 for 4 in the second game with a home run. Coach Wallach stated, ” Morgan is really seeing the ball well as she battles every at bat to get on base.” Emma Weston smashed a three-run homer win in the second game helping ECC to victory behind the pitching of the hot hitter and hot pitcher on the day, Morgan Green.
Ashleigh Damazyn and Nicole Truitt also hit home runs in the losing effort against MAC in the first game.
The Falcons will turn around and face Mineral Area College again this coming Monday trying to secure the #2 seed in the NJCAA Region 16 tournament. Overall play will need to be cleaned up as ECC has high hopes trying to head deep into the post season. A good indication of a better weather forecast with higher temperatures will hopefully heat up the Falcons bats in the coming post-season.
