The Falcons (18-21) were able to split a double header with the Hesston College Larks. The first game didn’t go the way of the Falcons as the bats were not hot in the first game. A lot of missed opportunities had ECC looking to rally, but couldn’t muster the shots to complete the game as they fell 4-2.

ECC prevailed in the second game by a score of 8-5 with a complete team effort making the trip to Hesston, KS somewhat worth the wait.

The second game was led by on the mound by the pitching of Will DesHotels who earned the victory login four and two-thirds innings, striking out seven batters. Cris Gonzalez and Alfred Ulloa came into the gm win relief and Ulloa earned the save. Ulloa struck out the last batter to get the Falcons out of a jam and preserve the win.

Offensively the Falcons were led by Luciano Terille and Seth Shannon who both hit home runs in the fourth and fifth innings respectively. Terrilli had three RBI and Shannon had two RBI to give ECC an  8-1 lead in the top of the fifth inning. Other runs batted in came from Ethan Lindemann, Mario Columbo and Trey Orman.

As the Falcons look to the post season, this victory secured the #1 seed in the post season tournament being held in Trenton, Missouri on the North Central College campus May 6-8. ECC will face the winner of the #2 seed Hesston and #3 North Central at 2:30PM on Friday, May 6.
