The ECC Falcons (5-6) were able to extend their winning streak to five in a row by sweeping John Wood Community College in a double header by scores of 5-4 and 13-3.

The first game was highlighted with good pitching and a walk-off win! Billy Underwood took the mound for the Falcons in his first college start and didn’t flinch through the first five innings holding the Trailblazers scoreless through five innings. Underwood only missed on a few pitches as he was starting to get gassed in the 6th inning letting up four runs in the inning. Joey Reichmuth and TJ Schwartz came in to finish the 6th inning. Schwartz ended up with the victory after the comeback.

Seth Shannon, Devon Jennings and Luciano Terrilli all had multiple hits in the first game of the day, but it was a Jennings’ single which produced the walk-off winner for the Falcons. Mario Columbo scored the tying run at 4-4 and then Terilli was driven in off a Jennings scorching hit hugging fair territory along the third base line to seal the deal.

ECC was then able to comeback from a 3-0 deficit in the second inning of the second game by just pure hitting. Shannon drove in four runs on two doubles, one in the 4th and one in the 5th.  Jennings, Colombo and Ethan Lindemann also registered two RBI on two hits by each player in the game to add to the scoring fest. The game ended in the bottom of the 6th inning with the score 13-3. Brett Farmer, Drew Davis and Sam Oermann combined on the mound to shut the door on John Wood.
