The East Central College men’s soccer team (1-0) opened up the season with a change of game plans, but that didn’t matter as the Falcons were ready to play anyway.  ECC was scheduled to play Metropolitan Community College Kansas City and the game was postponed due to COVID exposure on the MCCKC side.  Instead the Falcons crossed over the border into Kansas to play Mid-America Nazarene where they collected the first victory of the season with a 4-1 win.  Joe McInnes led the team offensively as he scored three goals in the match to gain his first official goals of his college career. Miguel Gonzalez netted the game winning second goal in the victory for the Falcons.

ECC will be ready to face St. Charles Community College this week and State Fair Community College later in the almost entirely Region 16 schedule this season. A focused team will have the Falcons poised to perch at the top of the standings board if they can bring home two wins this week.
