A thrilling end to the match had the ECC Falcons come out on top with an amazing overtime goal by Ralph Joseph to beat the Illinois Central College Cougars 3-2 in overtime. ECC entered the game coming off one day’s rest after beating Crowder College 3-1. The Falcons and the Cougars battled scoreless for the first 30 minutes until Juan Bolivar found the back of the net on a Joel Konteh assist for a 1-0 ECC lead. After the first goal, ICC was down and the Falcons struck again on a Magnus Andersen corner kick connection to Zach Druhe, who hammered home a one timer into the back of the net.

The Cougars woke up and increased the intensity in the game scoring two goals to send the game into overtime. As the Falcons let down went throughout the end of regulation, their game picked up in overtime. Joseph stole the ball from an opposing player at the half line and then beat another defender to launch a 30-yard bomb off the far post and into the net for the golden goal winner in overtime. The Falcons salvaged another win despite playing with tired legs to improve their record to 5-1 on the season. Next up for the Falcons are games against Lincoln Land and St. Charles.
