Diego Navia was named an NAIA All-American in his first season with the Columbia College Cougars. Navia may have only played one season in a Falcon uniform, but his impact was amazing the way he patrolled the midfield for ECC. He was named 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-Region during the Covid shortened season in the spring of 2021 for East Central. He is considered to be one of the best ever central midfielders to patrol the pitch for the Falcons.
Navia’s career stats have never been overwhelming because he is a complete team player. He is the engine that makes any team better in the middle of the field. He started 20 out of 21 games this past season with 3 assists for Columbia College as they made it the final four in the NAIA Men’s Soccer National Tournament. ECC teammate of Navia, Guy Baskerville also played for the nationally ranked Cougars. Both players still have two years of eligibility remaining at the NAIA level.
