It was cool day, but the bats were hot enough for the ECC Falcons (3-4) to sweep the Lewis & Clark Trailblazers with double digit run totals of 10-8 and 10-9. The first game was started in the circle by Addyson Steele who reeled off four strikeouts in the first two innings. Runs came at a slow pace as the game was tied 1-1 after two innings. All of a sudden, the Falcons were trailing quickly 5-1 in the third inning.
Staring at a 5-1 deficit, it was time for the Falcons to go to work as the team rattled off three runs to get into striking distance down 6-4 after 4 innings. Then Anna Arman added a three run bomb over the outfield fence to put ECC up 7-6 in the fifth inning. Peyton Robinson added her own dinger going yard scoring two runs in the sixth inning. ECC finished the first game with Steele sealing the victory getting two flyouts and a strikeout to end the first game in the top of the seventh.
It was more long ball in the second game that led ECC to victory. Alexa Smalling hit two home runs in the game. The first was a three-run shot. The second was a solo home run which proved to be the game winning run. Anna Arman added an RBI double of her own. A good pitching performance escaping close jams with timely strikeouts, Kylie McDaniel earned the victory.
