A big win over Region 16 rival Metropolitan Community College Kansas City has the Falcons (7-5) flying high from this past weekend. ECC was able to knock down the perennial power in Region 16 DII volleyball, MCCKC, for the first time since 2013 by scores of 28-26, 22-25, 17-25, 25-12, 15-13.

Freshmen Grace Struttmann and Macy Morehead collected career highs in the kill category with 22 and 17 respectively. On the defensive side of the ball, Kaley Roper came through for the Falcons with 18 kills and Aurora Pututua had 13 as well. Another bright spot with a good statistical performance for the Falcons was Nicole Roper who registered 31 assists.

Coach Lisa Mathes-Peters was pleased with her team’s come from behind win in the fifth set tiebreaker. Each set was tightly contested with the Falcons coming through with a big fourth set and decisive fifth set win.

A long trip across the state to Kansas City can be timing consuming, but the return trip is always more enjoyable after a victory!
